Robert Lewis Dear;  Motive is believed to be Right-Wing Political Idealogy

The Colorado Springs murderer is believed to have been motivated by hatred and a hard lined right-wing idealogy against women's rights and equality. This is not to say or to make any excuses for what he did at all. The man is crazy and mentally deranged nonetheless.  He was charged with murder in the 1st degree and is being held without bond.  He surrendered after a 5 hour long stand-off with police outside of a Planned Parenthood clinic back on November 27, 2015.

I just want to make a point that his motive is still under investigation, but according to a confession that Dear made when he was taken into custody, he seems to have explained it was his extreme right-wing views to a detective.  Dear was an independent art dealer when he lived in the Carolinas.  He also had a previous history of vandalizing other Planned Parenthood clinics by gluing the locks on the doors of the buildings.  His religion is evangelistic Christian without any biblical teachings. He was married previously and his wife divorced him because of his violent tendencies. Dear lived his life as a hermit inside trailers in wooded areas and then made his own cabin with no running water or heat when he lived in North Carolina. 

Right now it is still yet to be determined whether or not Robert Dear is competent to understand the nature of his crimes.  He will be evaluated for a mental health competency check up before his case goes to trial, sometime within the next year or so.
